Social Meets
We hold an informal social /trip planning meeting on the last Wednesday of every month. These are held at the Red Lion, 470 High Street, Elstow, Bedford, MK42 9XP. Come along from 20:00, meet some of our members and say hello.
Planned Trips
The following trips are planned for 2026 with accommodation booked as below. Look out for the booking sheet emails issued a few weeks in advance of each trip.
23-25 January 2026 Cefn Goth, Deiniolen, Snowdonia. 8 hut places booked. Good hillwalking and scrambling in with Llanberis close by. Possible winter climbing options, weather depending.
27-29 February 2026 Agnes Spencer hut in Patterdale. Lake District. 10 hut places booked. Great for Helvellyn, Fairfield, St Sunday and fells on Eastern side of Ullswater. Winter climbing possible if conditions allow.
20-22 March 2026 Bewdy Maur, Nant Peris, Snowdonia. 11 hut places booked plus 3 camping places. Excellent walking, scrambling and climbing in Llanberis Pass area and Eyri.
April 24-26 2026 Stair, Newlands Valley, Lake District. 21 places booked. Good walking on High Spy and Dale Head from the hut, climbing in Borrowdale is a short car journey away.
May 15-17 2026 Bindwell Bunkhouse, Exmoor. 12 places booked. New venue for the club – access to walking on Exmoor and climbing on Dartmoor. Local options for canoeing and mountain biking nearby.
June 13 – 20 2026 Alex MacIntyre Memorial hut, North Ballachulish. 10 places booked. Great location for the mountains around Glencoe and Fort William.
10-12 July 2026 Carlwark Cottage, Peak District. 10 places booked. Very convenient location for both climbers and walkers.
August 2026 TBC The Loft, Blea Tarn, Langdale, Lake District. Basic accommodation but handily placed for all aspects of walking pr climbing in the Langdales.
18 – 20 September 2026 Cwm Glas Mawr, Llanberis, North Wales. 9 places booked. Perfect for climbers and mountaineers – directly opposite Clogwyn y Grochan and Craig Ddu. Note: short walk from car park required so pack appropriately.
16 – 18 October 2026 Murthwaite, Ravenstonedale, Kirkby Stephen. 14 places plus camping available in a private barn. Good choice of walking options available in the Howgills.
13 – 15 November 2026 Helyg, Capel Curig, North Wales. 13 places booked. Located in the Ogwen Valley so ideal for big hills eg Tryfan, Carnedd Llewelyn and the Glyders.
4 – 6 December 2026 High Moss, Duddon Valley, Lake District. 24 places booked. Popular venue for the traditional end of year meet, good walking options from the door.
