Bedford Mountaineering Club exists to bring people together through a shared love of mountains. We believe that time spent outdoors develops friendships and creates unforgettable experiences.
Our purpose is simple: to help people discover adventure, feel part of a welcoming community, and grow their skills in the mountains.
We create this sense of belonging through an informal, inclusive atmosphere where newcomers are genuinely welcomed. We support both climbers and walkers of all abilities, encouraging progression without pressure. Our approach blends regular mountain trips and social connection.
We are a group of around 40 mountain enthusiasts based in and around Bedfordshire. Our activities include:
– Monthly hut-based meets across North Wales, the Lake District, and the Peak District
– Bigger adventures to Scotland and the Alps, with more planned
– Local social gatherings in Bedford
– Indoor climbing at Milton Keynes climbing centres
Everything we do is designed to help people enjoy the mountains together — safely, socially, and with plenty of enthusiasm.
