- Cover a Wide Range of Mountain Activities
From scenic hill walks to challenging climbs, we cater for all levels and interests. Our members enjoy everything from low level hill walks to more challenging, technical mountain adventures, as well as wild swimming and mountain biking. - Regular Meets and Trips
Join us for weekly socials in Bedford and frequent trips to stunning locations like the Peak District, Snowdonia, and the Lake District. There’s always something happening! - Friendly and Supportive Community

Being affiliated with the British Mountaineering Council, the national body that represents the interests of climbers, mountaineers and hill walkers provides us with a range of benefits including access to other affiliated club’s huts, personal liability insurance and training amongst others.
How We Are Organised
Each year the club elects a committee to help manage the club and to co-ordinate our activities. The current officers of the club are:

History
The club, founded in 1982 was established to replace the recently closed Bedford Teachers Mountaineering Club.
Following an inaugural meeting in The Kings Arms, the first meets were organised and apart from during COVID 19, trips have been scheduled for most months since then. None of the recent meets have surpassed the infamous second meet that was held in Aviemore in Winter. It was discovered that the caravan accommodation was not snow proof and filled up with snow overnight!
We still have two of the original line up as active members!
